The mission of the association is to promote a dialogue with otherness, in particular with the ethnic groups present in its reference territory which is that of the Municipality of Eboli and the Municipalities belonging to the social sphere of Salerno S3 (Altavilla Silentina, Campaign, Contursi Terme, Oliveto Citra, Postiglione, Serre and Sicignano degli Alburni In the Municipality of Eboli alone, leader of the Area, around 5,000 third-country nationals reside and represent 12.6% of the population.

The strategy implemented by Mediterranea Civitas was to create a network of schools of all types and levels in the area mentioned above and to activate a series of educational workshops for the knowledge of diversity (cultures, religions, ways of life) using an approach intercultural and seeking the universal value that the different ethnic groups have in common. This in respect of one's own origins and identity and in the effort to create a community welfare model for a constitutional and non-antagonistic integration.
